Acceptable Use Policy

Provance is built to make AI training data and delivery safer and easier to prove. These rules apply to everyone who uses it, and they form part of our Terms of Service.

1. Use it lawfully

  • Do not use Provance for anything illegal, or to help anyone break the law.
  • Do not upload personal information unless you have a lawful basis and have given any notices required. Do not upload sensitive information, such as health information, without telling us first and choosing a suitable privacy setting.
  • Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property.

2. Do not use it to cause harm

Do not use Provance to create, or to train systems to create:

  • sexual content involving minors, in any form (we report this to the authorities);
  • instructions or assistance for weapons capable of mass harm, or for serious violence;
  • malware, or content meant to break into systems you are not authorised to test;
  • harassment, threats, hate or content that targets a real person;
  • fraud, scams, impersonation or deceptive content presented as real; or
  • advice that endangers safety, such as telling people to ignore an emergency or a gas leak.

3. Do not get around the safeguards

  • Do not try to defeat the de-identification, the quality checks, the safety review, the human decisions or the export gate, for example by disguising personal details or harmful content.
  • Do not tamper with, forge or misrepresent Provance evidence, or present it as a certification.
  • Do not use Provance in a way that breaks the usage policies of the AI provider processing your request. When you use your own key, your provider's policies apply.

4. Respect the service and other customers

  • Do not probe, scan or test the security of Provance without our written permission.
  • Do not overload the service, get around rate limits or plan limits, or open extra accounts to get more free use.
  • Do not access another organisation's data, or share your account or API keys outside your organisation.
  • Do not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or resell Provance, or use it to build a competing service, unless we have agreed in writing.

5. What we do about misuse

If we believe this policy has been broken, we may remove content, hold or stop runs, pause API keys, suspend or close accounts, and report illegal activity to the authorities. Where practical we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. See our Terms of Service for suspension and termination.

6. Reporting

To report misuse or a security issue, email [email protected]. Please include enough detail for us to investigate, and do not include personal information you do not need to.
